Washington Heights received $24 million in HUD Demolition Disposition program funds to complete the renovation of the development in 2004.

The apartments are a combination of two, three, four bedroom units supported by 100% HUD Section 8 rental funds. The development contains a computer lab, management and tenant offices, and a community room. Grove Hall Apartments received $6 million in HUD Demolition Disposition Program funds to complete the renovation of the development in 2003.

The VBC Apartments are 30-unit family apartments for veterans and family members located at 495 blue hill avenue in the Grove Hall section of boston. The apartments are a combination of one and three bedroom units supported by 100% HUD Section 8 rental funds. The basement contains the offices of VBCDC and a computer lab. VBC apartments is one of the total rehab of four vacant HUD owned properties at a cost of $5 million. The project was completed by VBCDC in 1990 with the use of low income tax credits, private financing, and city/state grants. The development is credited for the beginning of the revitalization of Grove Hall.
